Gown By Shar

I am sporting a lovely gown from Sharodie in this post, and it just seemed perfect for a warm summer evening. I want to point out that Shar does some really gorgeous work for REALLY cheap prices! This gown cost me a hot $L19…yes, you read that right, it’s not a typo. And nothing is much more expensive than that. Some, I think, are L29, and you cannot beat the quality for that price. Her gowns are pretty, flowing and she has some mesh items, too, as well as many with Tango Appliers, if “old school” prims aren’t your thing. As you know, I am normally the primo of mesh addicts, however, for the price and the gorgeous flow and color of this gown, I had to forego my normal “fix” and buy this gown when I saw it on the MP. Since I was wearing it for a walk along the hills, pretty wind-blown hair from Truth seemed only fitting. I really love this whole look (and my guy did, too…bless his sweet heart) and had to post on it. Keep in mind…unlike a lot of blogs, I don’t necessarily push new releases or the latest and greatest. Instead, I pretty much blog whatever I recently bought, or foraged out of my inventory, and which I like and want to share with anyone who is interested. Besides not really having the linden balance, most weeks, to actually BUY the latest and greatest, I’m just a pretty random girl and my posts reflect that. So forgive me when I post things you may have seen before or that make you think “meh”…it’s just my usual sporadic and random style choices at fault. 🙂

A Little Art Deco From Genre

 

I took a quick trip to this edition of Genre, the theme of which is Art Deco, and picked up this cute dress with matching clutch. I love the color and the texturing. It had such a retro, dramatic feel that I just had to pair it with a long cigarette and poses as well as this cute style from Alice Project, from their new “create your own” packs of color, which allows you to pick 5 different shades from all of their available colors and textures. Each “create your own” hairpack comes with a HUD with all available colors, and you have 60 seconds to demo a color before that hair is permanently dyed that shade. You receive 5 hairs in the style, each of which can have it’s own color/shade. It’s a great way to get all the colors you really want without the extras on a HUD which you’ll never use. I really love this idea so bought quite a few styles in this option. The whole look made me feel girly but tough, retro but a modern girl and street-smart and sophisticated.

More Sn@tch and a little BOOM

Hi, All. A little while back, I purchased this cute little mini skirt from BOOM, and then promptly forgot about it as it lay in the abyss that is my inventory. While making a half-hearted attempt at inventory sorting, I ‘found’ it and knew I had to put together an outfit around here. Happily forgetting about silly things like an organized inventory, I scrolled through my “stuff to sort” folder (am I the only one who has one of those?) and found this cute little crocheted sweater from one of my (as I’m sure you’ll remember) favorite stores, Sn@tch, which includes the cute white tank top for those times when modesty counts. With my kick-ass Gos heels and cute glasses, I was ready to check out some art in cute style. I have to make special mention of the skin I’m wearing…it’s from the Glam Affair Gacha at this round of The Arcade, and I adore it. I have 6 make-ups of that skin and this one is, by far, my favorite. At only L100 a try, I was quite pleased with all of the skins I won, actually, but this one in particular.

Just a quick post to rave over this lovely mesh gown from Sn@tch (available in on their New Release wall on the lefthand side of the mainstore) and what a great deal you get. This gown is a mere L325, and although that may sound pretty standard, or even a little lower than average, for a mesh gown of this caliber, with Sn@tch, you don’t get just one gown for that price. No. For that lovely number, you get 8…yes, 8…all 8 colors of this gorgeous, slinky, sexy number.

I’ve paired it with a new release from Truth, Colbie, along with some older jewelry I had floating around in my inventory. I felt quite sexy and elegant in this ensemble, and can’t stress enough what a great deal this gown is and how quickly you should get there and ‘snatch’ it up.

Just A Beach Day

 

Just a little look I put together with a few things I recently picked up. You can really only see the bottoms in these photos, but the bikini is a new release from Cold Logic where they have a really nice selection of mesh bathing suits in their new release section, along with some cute summer dresses. Cold Logic is one of those stores I only visit every so often, because when I do, I do serious damage to my linden balance. I paired that with a cute cover-up top and mesh hat, I picked up from the MP and I was ready for some sand and surf. I needed some entertainment, of course, so this cute beach bag (which comes filled and unfilled-each with or without a pose) fit that need perfectly. Altogether, it was the perfect combo for a relaxing day by the sea.

Cold Logic and Collabor88

I know you’ve probably seen this dress on other blogs and I’m a little late to the party, but I had some lindens to spare for a change (it seems like FOREVER) and had to pick up one of these pretty dresses. I’m not normally a fan of citrus colors, but I had just been to Collabor88 where I picked up a cute pair of heels (made for the SLink Avatar Enhancement feet, specifically) and did things backwards…I bought the dress to match the shoes, instead of the other way around. This dress is so pretty and summery and gives the impression of floating around you as you walk. I love the asymmetrical cut to it and the duo shades. It’s definitely perfect for a summer date or just an afternoon stroll. I’m using a skin from Glam Affair in these photos, as MyDear (who is the maker of my “normal” skin) does not currently do the skin applies for SLink hands and feet. Although I did send her a notecard with that request and am keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll appear in the future. The hair is at FaMESHed this round and I love the cute pigtails and the lovely texturing. Exile has really outdone themselves with their…relatively…new textures and texture packs.

VIP Gift From Dead Dollz: Oooohh, Lingerie

 

I’ve blogged her gowns and dresses, but now Kiddo has released this lovely mesh lingerie set as her newest VIP Group Gift, and I urge you to pick it up if you can. If you’re not already a member of her group, it’s a great time to join and is well worth it. This set is sexy, in a very classy way. The texturing, as with all of Dead Dollz’ items, is impeccable and pretty, and it’s easy to see the meticulous attention paid to detailing. This, in my opinion, is just one of the things which places Dead Dollz at the top of the mesh pack. The bottoms are in the style of a flirty little skirt which just grazes the tops of your thighs, along with garter suspenders and black sheer stockings. I love how sexy and feminine I feel when wearing this gorgeous set, and I know you will, too. Like I said, if you like lingerie like I do, carry yourself to Dead Dollz as soon as possible and pick up this lovely gift from Kiddo Oh.

Lovely Mesh from LpD

I couldn’t resist this unique, pretty mesh dress when I saw it at LpD. I love the way the add-on’s to the skirt make it look like it’s blowing prettily in the breeze. It’s pretty, light texturing and shades make it the perfect summer dress, whether you wish to go formal or just feel like being soft and girly. It’s available in 3 shades…sand, white and pink. Since the dress had the look of a light breeze wafting it, I paired it with my favorite hair from Lelutka-Pocahontas. This is my go-to hairstyle for photos like this…when I just want to give the impression of a warm summer breeze flowing over me.

Cute Lil Skirt

 

Just a quick post because I love this skirt so much. It’s cute, flirty and sexy. You can wear it with almost anything, which is an option I adore in clothing. I paired it with an adorable crop top from Sn@tch done in the “old style” of system clothing layers. Along with long flowing locks from Truth (yes, I toned down the saturation in the pics, so the hair is normally more blue), I felt ready to do some serious observing from my position perched safely against the wall. Observing what, you might ask. Pretty much observing people just TPing into and out of the sim. It wasn’t really a hopping place, but it was a good location for photos, so I dealt with the only occasional shadow of someone else in  my picture frame. 🙂 At least there were no inane or vulgar IM’s this time around, so that was a plus.

Just a bit of random

I haven’t posted in several days, and haven’t really been shopping very much (Horrors, I know!), so thought I’d just post something a bit random today…some things I pulled out of my inventory. These photos are pretty heavily edited, so the disclaimer included is *this is NOT exactly how the outfit will look in Second Life. 🙂

Before I go into details, I just want to share something. The last year, my real life has been completely turned around. An unexpected marital breakup (that, in hindsight, I should have seen coming), suddenly thrown into the role of being a single mom of 2, and then, soon after, being an unemployed single mom of 2, financial hardships, heartbreak and the ensuing rediscovery of myself and who I am, without having a “husband” to cater to and allow to define me. I went through some of my darkest, stormiest days…but through it all, I’ve made new friends, learned to look for the rainbow in each day’s storm (and there is always one) and that I’m worth far more than I ever gave myself credit. I, also, met a wonderful guy who is kind, caring, sweet, creative, intelligent and my perfect match. There are a few drawbacks…I’m in the United States…he is in Holland; there is a pretty significant age difference, and a few other things. At first, I was very hesitant in trusting and believing it was real, but time and hours upon hours of conversation, where his traits have been consistently displayed, won me over. In my real life, right now, I’m not ready yet, nor do I want, a relationship. There is still work left to be done. But, someone who is there for me, to hold silly, smart conversations with, to learn about and enjoy spending time with?…yes, those things are good for me. Sooooo, in my life, this has made a difference…a good one, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it all ends up. But regardless of where that may be, I will enjoy the ride. (those of you who have never experienced an online “relationship” may not understand my views on this…but those who have, I think, will understand perfectly, the advantages and disadvantages)

So, my outfit is pieced together from a couple of different places…the dress is HUD controlled, and you have quite a few options on color and pattern. It comes with the jewelry I’m wearing, and also shoes…which I am not wearing. The hair is actually a man’s hairstyle, from Dura…I ❤ their texturing so much…but I think it’s still a good look for girl’s. A lot of Dura’s styles for men are easily adaptable for us ladies. The shoes are my new favorites from Redgrave. I had fun taking these photos, and playing with effects on Photofunia. Great free site with some good tools, if you only have very basic post-processing skills like me.
