The Chapter Four Stuffs

 

I’m very late in posting this so for all I know, this event has ended by now. I’m a slacking blogger, I know, but in my defense I’ve been battling a sinus infection (one of my 2 or 3 a year I get) and some ‘poor me’ woes in RL, but I’m trying to get back on track. I’ve actually had these photos finished and ready to go for several days now, just didn’t get around to making the actual post until tonight. So, lame apologies aside, here are a few things from The Chapter Four event, which consisted of 4 different rooms with several items from different creators. A relatively small event, but there were some cute things to be had, and this sweet little 50’s-style dress was one of them. I’m not normally a fan of yellow, but I really liked the warm, buttery tone to this dress, as well as the full skirt and the texturing. A really cute find, and not expensive at all! Which I loved!! I paired it with some cute pumps with bobby socks and was pretty pleased with my retro look.

An Artist’s Inspiration with Corvus

I want to start out by saying that if you have an extra L90, this nicely-made leather jacket from Corvus, and available at Perfect Wardrobe, is well worth the price. I usually fine one or two gems each session of Perfect Wardrobe, and I definitely consider this jacket this round’s diamond…so much so that I also bought it in black and white. It’s very versatile, and fits well over other mesh items, which can be difficult to find without having to wear hugely differing mesh sizes, and who really wants to look like a linebacker? I included a couple of shirts I had lying around in my inventory underneath the jacket for a nice casual feel, especially when I added my all-time favorite jeans from Maitreya. This little mesh art cabin (ony 5 LI) is available from Scarlet Creative, along with many of her other well made mesh builds.

From Designers United 5

I have been looking for something like this dress for a very loooooong time. I’m super-excited to finally have a dress that looks truly windblown, without having to wear flexi prims and catch a photo at just the right moment. This dress from Fashionably Dead (and available at Designers United 5) provides the perfect look for photos and provides just the right amount of a dramatic touch. The added necklace, which is also created to show the effects of a ‘wind’, is adorable and a really thoughtful add, I think. I debated with  myself for quite a bit before purchasing this dress, since from what I could see it was only available in a pack of 3 colors, which I didn’t necessarily need, and which was a little more expensive than I wanted to spend. So, I strolled around, looked at everything else…but when I saw this hair, and these poses, I knew it was meant to be! Besides, I had waited long enough for just this exact sort of design. Soooo excited about this and already have a dramatic photo idea in mind to post to my Flickr page.

There are tons of other great offerings available at Designers United 5, so if you haven’t made it there yet, you should go have a look. Some very unique items from some great stores!

The Creatures & Sax Shepherd Shoes

 

They say a woman’s place is in the kitchen, no? I took that to heart, and here I am. Ooohhh…do you think maybe they meant as in ‘cooking’? Can’t say I do much of that in this particular kitchen, but it has it’s other uses. *grins* And while I’m comfortably sitting my bottom on the counter while waiting for my hard-working builder to come back to me, I thought I’d show off this cute little men’s nightshirt, with hat and garter, from The Creatures. Believe me, it’s just as comfy and sexy as it looks. But nothing is more comfortable than wearing a nice oversize shirt while hanging out at home. More Fall Stuffs from DE Designs

 

More lovelies for Fall, my friends! This time it’s a sweet little sweater dress from DE Designs and I absolutely adore it. The texturing is super-realistic, and I liked the choice of fall colors which were available. It was hard to choose, but since I have a weakness for wearing red, red it was. I also couldn’t resist pairing it with my Maitreya boots and this brand spanking-new hair from Exile, which, to me, is just perfect for a brisk, Autumn day. I love the length and the way the hair flows over my shoulders, while also giving you that slightly windblown look which is all too common at this time of year. Of course, I somehow picked a sim with summery flowers for my photos, but that’s me…a well of contradictions!

The Seasons Story

 

Once again, I am celebrating the impending arrival of Autumn (as I eye the approaching storm clouds which will hopefully cut this awful humidity to a reasonable level), and I’m doing it today with some pretty things available at The Seasons Story. This was a difficult shopping trip for me…there was so much I wanted, but I had only my self-allowed allotment of lindens to spend, so I tried to stick with only those items which really caught my eye, and which I couldn’t resist. And you can see the result. First off, I adore this sweater from B.C.C. for it’s amazing softness, which can be seen in the texturing. It reminds me of a sweater I own in RL, with the same look to it. I paired it with this cute below-the-knee lace skirt from Pesca. I’ll admit I’ve never heard of this store before, and am looking forward to visiting their main location to see what else they have available, because the quality of the skirt is to die for, I have to say. The fall ankle boots from Leonard also drew my attention almost immediately, and I’m debating heading back for a few other colors after this weekend, when I have a little more to spend. I’m also a fan of Diva hair, especially the styles with the soft, loose tendrils around your face, so of course had to snatch this style up. It comes with a pretty leaf crown, which I opted to turn off for these pictures (and because I’ve already seen a half ton of photos with the hair) and which completed my look, much to my happiness.

The Seasons Story is well worth the trip. The prices are reasonable, there are some great designers included (did I point out this delicate skin from Al Vulo yet?) and the set up stay well in theme. A pretty happy experience for me, all in all.

Welcome, Fall

 

I’m not a big fan of hot, humid weather, and my little corner of the country, although technically the North, can become quite sticky and muggy during the summer months. I’m one of those crazy people who would rather retire to…oh, say, Connecticut…as opposed to Florida. Our August was relatively mild, and I didn’t even need to have the A/C on very often, but since the start of September, the temps have risen and the humidity is back…in force. So, to hasten that lovely, brisk feeling of Fall (at least in my own mind, if not for real), I was thrilled to see so many different Fall-themed fashion events in SL. Collabor88 is full-out Fall this round and this soft, snuggly cardigan from Color.Me.H.O.F. had me almost purring with delight when I tried it on. I love the fit…the mesh is rigged very well, and it put me in a complete Autumn state of mind, I have to admit. When I added the hair from Exile, which is also available at Collabor88, with it’s cute little beret, with many different color options, I ended up with the perfect start-of-fall outfit. Of course, one needs leaves gently falling in the breeze to really round out that cooler weather feeling, so I also picked up these cute poses, with leave props, from Kirin, and available at The Seasons Story, Get your Fall on, people, and head on out for some sweater shopping!

A L’il Bit of FaMESHed, A L’il Bit of Arcade

Sooo much going on right now in the SL fashion world. FaMESHed has some great items, The Arcade gachas are impressive this time around, Collabor88 about to open, sales..the list just goes on. How’s a girl to keep up? By starting with what I like most and going from there. First up is FaMESHed with this lovely halter top and maxi skirt from Baiastice. I love the texturing and the flow of the skirt…perfect for a late summer evening, I think.

My main purpose in hitting up The Arcade this round was to grab up some of the scrumptious “Candy” skins from Glam Affair, which I was finally able to do. I think I have all but 4 in the American tone, which was JUST what I wanted. And I’m displaying one of them in these photos. I love Glam Affair faces, along with some of the body detailing, although MyDear is my ‘normal’ skin, Glam Affair skins are a close second. Of course, I also had to play the gachas for the Diva hair, and I was able to get some of my favorite shades in that, also, including the one I’m wearing. I’m a fan of the way that so many Diva hairstyles have the cute little tendrils that curl around your face, and this style is no exception. The slightly windblown-hair-escaping-from-it’s-updo look suited me perfectly.

These photos were all taken on the Mysterious Wave sim, which is wonderful for taking photos, I think. The ‘theme’ changes periodically, but it’s always slightly whimsical in one way or the other, and the face that you can rez poseballs, as well as walk on the water, make for some dramatic photos. If you’ve never visited this sim, you really should go. Especially if you love taking photos in SL as much as I do…it’s the perfect setting.

Dead Dollz Gown & Sax Shepherd Jewels

Blogging two days in a row!!! I can’t believe it myself, so I certainly don’t expect you to. But I couldn’t help it…I just had to show you this lovely new release from Dead Dollz, the Cosette Gown, with all of it’s impeccable detailing and gorgeous skirt with a slight train at the back. The color is delightfully soft and feminine and the optional shrug adds just that right touch of elegance. Kiddo Oh has outdone herself this time, I must say, and I really have to talk my guy into taking me to a ballroom so I can really show off this amazing dress. I accentuated the deep decolletage of the gown with this beautiful diamond necklace from Sax Shepherd Designs, and also included the matching bindi, bracelets and earrings. It’s one of the loveliest jewelry sets I’ve seen, and as far as I’m aware, Sax also has plans to set up jewelry Gachas in his main store. This set is not yet available for purchase, but he has made assurances that it will be within the next few weeks, so keep your eye out for the release. If you love jewelry as much as I do…and oh, yes, diamonds ARE a girl’s best friend…I’m sure that you’ll be eagerly awaiting the release of this lovely mesh set.

TDR Fusion

 

This month’s TDR Fusion round has some really great things. This dress from Drift was my absolute must-have, especially at only L70! It’s available in 3 different colors, and the fit is lovely. The texturing, with the addition of the little belt, makes this an absolutely adorable little dress. I wore it for THREE days, which is unheard of for me, so that tells you how much I like it. 🙂 I paired it with this cute gold jewelry set from A&Ana was the perfect way to accessorize the belt detailing. If you haven’t been to this round, yet, I urge you to go. This is only one of the really nice items available for a nice low price this month.
